Intimacy is a key component in any marriage. Some say that if your marriage lacks intimacy, then your marriage will ultimately fail. Many factors can play a part in the reasons behind the loss of intimacy in a marriage. The most common reasons include stress brought on from work, financial problems or a lack of desire.

Stress can be relieved through intimacy, but how does one address a lack of desire? To boost intimacy with your spouse, you must first identify the root of the problem.

Do you find your spouse unattractive? Try suggesting morning or nightly walks to help boost energy levels and tone your bodies. Do you have problems with erectile dysfunction? There is now medication on the market that can help solve these problems.

Viagra has been around for over a decade and was initially used to treat high blood pressure. Where can you buy legitimate Viagra? Viagra is a prescribed medication. Most doctors will screen you to determine if this is the right treatment for you. You can also buy genuine Viagra online.

Viagra can help you perform better in the bedroom and bring the spark of intimacy back between you and your spouse. Surprise your spouse when they least expect it and show them that you care. Having performance anxiety is a common problem among men of every age and is a big factor in the lack of intimacy in a marriage. Correct that problem and you may just save your marriage.

As the parent of a baby, you should know what to do if your baby needs immediate medical help. If baby can’t breathe or is choking (and coughing or your own blockage dislodging techniques aren’t working) or if baby can’t be awaken, you may need to perform CPR.

The first step in baby CPR is, naturally, to call 911. If you are alone and help is minutes away, take the following steps (while calling 911 – put it on speaker):

If baby cannot be awaken, put baby face up on a hard surface and tilt the head back to open the airway. Check for respiration. If baby isn’t breathing, cover the mouth and nose with your own mouth – with baby’s head still tilted back – and carefully blow two short breathes into baby.

If baby still isn’t breathing, start chest compressions. Put two fingers on the sternum between the nipples. Avoid the bottom of the sternum as there is a tiny bone there on babies that you could possibly break off. With two fingers, between the nipples, push down about an inch – 30 times, twice per second. Repeat breathing and compressions (two breathes / 30 compressions) until baby begins breathing unaided or paramedics arrive.

Parents, please keep in mind, an article on the Internet is not CPR training! CPR should ideally be done by someone trained to do it. Contact a hospital that may offer CPR classes or maybe a nursery or daycare that require this sort of training of their employees. Hopefully, you’ll never need to use any of these skills, but should you need them, you’ll be glad you took the time to learn.

There is nothing more devastating to new parents than to learn that something is wrong with their young child. The news can often be so crippling that parents have to trust the medical personnel to do what is best for their child. While doctors are trained to help people, sometimes their actions or inaction can result in permanent injuries that can affect the child for the rest of their life.

Injuries that occur during birth can be caused by the attending physician. Erb’s Palsy is an example of the type of crippling disease that alters the life of a child forever. It can be caused by pulling on the head, neck or shoulders of the infant as the baby passes through the birth canal. The injuries can cause paralysis which can be permanent. In these cases, birth injury attorneys California provides has continued success winning cases for their clients.

The experienced legal experts say it is important to investigate on your own how the diagnosis of Erb’s Palsy was made. For obvious reasons, hospital administrators will be reluctant to reveal the true cause and will explain it away as the result of a difficult or abnormal child birth. Skilled birth injury attorneys California will know where to find independent experts who can review the medical records and discover the truth.

It is absolutely critical if you think you may have a medical malpractice case over Erb’s Palsy to find an attorney that has experience in these types of cases. Treatment of Erb’s Palsy can lead to huge medical bills and a suit can help families recover those costs.

When you first find out you are pregnant, there are many emotions that come with it. You may become surprised, excited, scared, or have a mix of any other emotions. Becoming pregnant is a trial for any mother, but it can become even more of a trial knowing what you have to prepare for. Here are a few tips that will help you prepare your home for your newborn child.

Take an inventory of what is in your house and decide if anything needs to be thrown out in case it is a hazard to the baby. This also gives you a chance to clean up around the house a little bit before the new one arrives.

Determine what your child will need. Babies are small, but they require plenty of items for everyday activities. If your child needs their own bedroom, you may want to clean out an empty one or move into an apartment or home that will accommodate for your child’s needs. They will also need other essentials such as toys, a highchair, a stroller, crib, etc. Do your best to collect these items before the baby arrives. If you are worried about the cost of these items, try shopping at thrift stores so you can buy your items for a cheaper price.

There is plenty you can do to prepare for your baby, but determining your child’s needs is going to be the best way to prepare. Decide how you will live once your child comes along and work toward making your home perfect; you have a few months to work on it.

When you first bring the little one home, months worth of anticipation spill over to excitement. You can’t wait to dress her up in dresses or place her in the crib located in her brand new nursery. There is a sense of relief because she has finally arrived. And then, over the course of the next several weeks and months, reality sets in.

Feedings in the middle of the night, the sniffles and teething, and trying to keep up with some of the areas of your everyday life can be exhausting. Before you reach the burnout point you need to remember to give yourself a break. Taking care of an infant is a lot of work and it is time that you began to take care of yourself once again. So toss on your favorite Nike Clothes, and get outside for a walk. Let daddy, grandma, grandpa, or a good friend fill in while you are gone.

Don’t push yourself and attempt a couple of miles that first time you walk. Just enjoy the fresh air and walk around your neighborhood. If you have headphones, listen to some of your favorite songs as you walk. If you like just hearing the silence, that works too. Just being away will give you some perspective and provide you with a chance to regroup. As your infant gets older, look for other ways to give yourself a break like a manicure, pedicure or massage. When you get home you will find that you are a better mother because you are taking care of yourself.

Frugal moms pay close attention to the amount of money that their families spend because they want to use their cash for the most important things in life. Instead of limiting the fun activities that their families enjoy, many moms have found easy ways to save money on the items that they purchase every day. Clipping coupons, however, is just the first step for frugal moms who want to make the most of every penny.

Use the Library for Books and Movies

Moms want their children to learn as much as possible. The cost of buying books, however, can add up quickly. Instead of shelling out a lot of money for books, start using the library more often. If your kids love a particular book, then go ahead and buy it for them so that they can read it over and over. Don’t spend a penny, though, until you have checked the book out from the library first and decided that it is well worth the money.

You can also use the library to check out movies. Many library systems have a wide variety of family-friendly movies that will entertain your children. You might even find that they have some movies that target the adults in the family. Instead of spending money at a video rental store (or, heaven forbid, actually buying DVDs), use the library. Again, if your kids really love a movie, then you might decide to buy it for your home collection.

Cut Your Auto Insurance Costs

Finding affordable auto insurance could help you shave hundreds of dollars off your annual budget. That’s especially true for frugal moms who have teenage drivers in the house. Finding inexpensive car insurance doesn’t have to mean cutting coverage either. Use the Internet to compare the prices offered by several insurance providers, and make sure that you take advantage of every possible discount. You might find that you qualify for discounts if you have a student on your policy, you belong to certain auto clubs, or you belong to a professional organization.

Reduce Your Household Expenses

Frugal moms have found a nearly endless number of ways to reduce their home expenses. You can cut your utility bills by turning off lights when you leave a room, washing your clothes in cold water instead of hot water, and turning off all electronic devices when they are not in use. Get your kids involved to teach them the importance of conservation.

Also, you can spend less money by making your own cleaning supplies. It’s much easier than it sounds and it costs just a fraction of what you will spend on brand name supplies.

These are just a few of the tips that frugal moms follow to make some wiggle room in their budgets. Cutting expenses doesn’t mean that you have to sit at home bored. It just means finding cheaper ways that your family can have a good time while spending less money on insurance, home supplies, energy, and other expenses. What types of frugal tips do you use to help your family save money?

Stepmothers have a bad reputation. You can thank Cinderella for that. Just remember, we only heard Cinderella’s side. Blended families are fast becoming the new normal family. So if you’ve recently joined the ranks of stepmother–know that you are not alone. According to a recent study, 68 percent of remarriages include children from prior relations. Fortunately, unlike Cinderella’s stepmother, you have a lot of resources available to you. So you are already a head of the game, right? So here are some tips and helpful resources, for those times when you’re feeling overwhelmed, overworked, and under-appreciated.

Don’t take it personally. Children are evolving creatures. They can say and do hurtful things. You’re the adult, don’t take it personally. Don’t react, educate. Try to remember that children don’t have the coping resources adults have to deal with feelings of anger and jealousy. Journal for Sanity.

Keep a journal. Write every day and be honest about your feelings. Journaling is therapeutic—it gives you an opportunity to say the things you would never say out loud. Journals give you a safe place to put those thoughts and feelings. In addition, journal entries are like little bread crumbs on the road of life. They are way to back track your path. Where did you start? Where are you now.

Find and maintain a support group. Not only is their strength in numbers but group wisdom can be powerful. Look for groups in your local area. If you’re in a hurry and need a quick dip in the fountain of stepmother wisdom try: The Step Mom’s Toolbox or Becoming a Step Mom.

If your teenager is approaching the age where they will be driving soon, chances are that they’ll need access to a car, as well. In order to make it so they can have a certain amount of freedom without having to interfere with your car needs, you’ll probably want to help them make their first car purchase. Once that is done, and the payments are habitually made in full and on time, consider urging your teen to apply for a car refinance loan.

A couple of the benefits to this option are the possibility of getting a lower monthly payment and lower interest rate than what they were offered originally. When your teen first gets the car, they will probably have a higher interest rate due to a lack of credit history. Car salespersons want to be assured that payments will be made on time. However, a car refinance is a good option once the teen learns how to manage monthly payments, because by doing this, they can build a credit history.

When your teenager first bought the car, they may have had to get parental help in the form of co-signing for the car loan. But when the car is refinanced, they may feel compelled to take over the car payments so that they are handling them on their own, especially once they’ve gotten used to managing their finances to make sure that their income can bear the cost of the car payments. Bearing in mind that your teen may also benefit from a lower interest rate, when they refinance a car, it’s a great way to help them form lifelong responsible spending habits.

Autism is one of the most dreaded words in the modern parental vocabulary. It reigns atop the mountain of things like polio, typhoid and the bubonic plague as one of the most serious issues many parents fear. At its least, autism means social remediation and a lifetime spent primarily alone, and at its worst autism implies an institutional setting and a child who can never have a proper adult life. Some parents have even been told that vaccinations are among the causes of autism, which thankfully is not the case.

Years ago, there was a study done on vaccinations that declared a connection between the bubonic plague, sparking a huge amount of controversy. Over time, a lot of scientists duplicated the research behind the study in question, and found no connection between the administration of the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine and the onset of autistic symptoms. However, the damage had been done, and many parents believe to this day that one causes the other in many cases. The good news is, this supposed connection has been found to not exist at all.

Sometimes a pregnancy can come to a huge surprise for many couples. In most cases, people can’t move out after having their baby, which means they’ll need to convert their second bedroom into a nursery.

When it comes to nurseries, it’s important to put functionality and safety first, especially when living in Atlanta apartments, because you’re not always going to get a lot of space. Then you’ll want to choose what items you want to include that will not only fit the theme of the nursery, but your budget as well.

Remove everything from the room so you can fully prepare for the nursery. If you don’t need items anymore, you can either sell or donate them. Selling could be better since creating a nursery could get costly for you.

Make sure you measure the room so you know exactly how much furniture will fit in there. If it’s the size of an office, you won’t have any problems fitting a crib, changing table, dresser and rocking chair. But it’s good to make sure so you don’t waste any money on furniture items that won’t fit in there.

Now it’s time to paint and decorate the room! It’s always recommended to paint well before the baby is born so there’s plenty of time to air out the bedroom. When adding the crib, many websites will suggest that the crib not be put by the window, drapery, or blinds. Also, make sure the changing table is near your diaper area so the baby is never unattended.

Finally, child proof the house. It’s the most important step, but it’s a quick and easy one to do.

Finances are difficult, and it is likely that at some point you may consider taking out a payday loan. This is a big decision and you should take some time do decide if it is right for you and your family. If you have an unexpected emergency and need to care for your family in some way, such as a medical emergency or an urgent bill that must be paid, a payday loan can be a great help to you. If you are searching for the best vacation deal in Hawaii or are looking to purchase a pool for the backyard, you would not want to use a payday loan.

A payday loan from a company like paydayone.com is a short-term loan often with high interest that should not be relied on regularly for funds. They are intended to help borrowers through a difficult situation and to save them from further expenses and ramifications of not having the funds available. While payday loans have a higher interest rate due to their risk level, they are very useful when taken out for the purposes they are intended. If you decide that a payday loan is something that would benefit your family and you apply, be sure that you understand all of the terms and conditions of the loan agreement. You need to be on target with your repayment plan and make sure that you do not take out more than you can realistically afford to pay back.

Using a payday loan for fun and adventure is not a good use for such a tool. Using a payday loan for your family and their safety in paying necessary bills due to emergency situations is a great use of the product and will bring a helping hand when needed. Do not stray from your repayment plan and you will be able to get through the loan quickly keeping your from further debt.

One of the decisions you have to make as a new mom is whether or not to have your child immunized. There are legitimate arguments on both sides of this issue and some people tend to have very strong opinions for their side of the argument. The debate seems to be over the efficacy, safety, and reliability of immunizations. However, as a parent you need to ultimately make the decision of what is best for your child.

Your doctor should discuss with you thoroughly the pros and cons of specific immunizations, contraindications, and the risks and benefits of the particular immunizations that your child is scheduled to receive. If this has not happened it may be time for you to do some research yourself before making a decision. Having as much information as you can will ensure that you are making a well informed decision, whatever decision it is that you make.

When gathering the information you need to make an informed decision, there are several things you need to evaluate. What is the likelihood of your child actually ever contracting the disease you are immunizing against? What are the health risks and/or complications if your child were to contract the disease naturally? Is the vaccine safe? What are the known risks of the vaccine? Do the risks outweigh the benefits of this particular vaccine? Does the immunity provided by the vaccine provide a long-lasting, solid protection from the disease? What are the alternatives to immunization and are they safe? Now that you are armed with the important information you can make the best decision for your child.

You have made the important decision to breastfeed your baby, but do you have all the supplies on hand that you will need? There are several things you need to keep on hand at all times to make breastfeeding a more pleasant experience for you and your baby.

When breastfeeding you need to consider that you have the proper clothing. You will want to purchase a good, supportive breastfeeding bra. Not only will this be important for your comfort and for a good support of your breasts when they are full of milk, but it is also important for the convenience of feeding your baby. A breastfeeding bra has a panel that unsnaps easily allowing you access to the breast without fully undressing each feeding.

You will also need to consider that the rest of your clothing allows for easy access. There are many stylish breastfeeding shirts and dresses made with hidden panels that allow quick and easy access to the breast without exposing the body or causing uncomfortable feeding positions.

In the first few weeks as your body adjusts, you will experience a lot of engorgement and leaking of breast milk. There will be other times that you may leak as well. It is advisable to purchase a good quality pad that is placed inside the bra. This will pull excess moisture away from the breast allowing it to stay relatively dry and clean while protecting your clothing at the same time.

For optimal breast health you will also want a good lanolin oil or vitamin E oil for applying to the nipples to keep them moisturized and to prevent cracking, bleeding, and infection.

When you have kids, life is not as easy as it was when you didn’t have such attachments. Once you have kids, you obviously have a lot of work to do, both in taking care of them and in providing for them. While an adult person can survive many difficult situations, children can be far more fragile.

That’s why dating can be difficult. You may not want to introduce a potential partner to your kids if the relationship isn’t going to last. Depending on the situation, your kids may feel like any new person is trying to replace the missing parent. The solution may be online dating. This allows you to get to know potential partners from the comfort of your own home without stressing your children out.

You deserve to find someone special. So press onward through all the pitfalls and challenges. You might as well admit to everyone that you go on a virtual date with that you do have children. This is going to help you weed out those individual who aren’t interested in a long-term relationship.

The actual time when should introduce your kids to your new “friend” is a matter of wildly varying opinion. You could do so after a few dates, or you could do so after you have gotten intimate with the new person. While it is important not to imply to your children that you are trying to replace the other parent, it is important that this new person be seen in a good light. Do everything possible to schedule fun activities for the whole family once you do introduce your new partner to the kids. Be open with your children and be available to answer any questions they may have.

Dating can be difficult, even for people without kids. With online dating, you can get to know who is worth an introduction to your children and who is not.

In addition to the numerous health benefits that breastfeeding offers, there is evidence that it also prevents a number of ailments and illnesses. In fact, in a recent study done in Denmark there is some evidence to show that breastfed babies have fewer seizures after a year old than bottle-fed babies. In this study there was also evidence that the longer a baby breastfed the more benefit there was. In babies who were breastfed for at least nine months there were fewer incidences of seizures than babies who were fed for a shorter period of time.

There is some discussion that the link between breastfeeding and a reduced chance at developing a seizure disorder can be contributed to nutrients found in breast milk that are required for normal brain development in infants. Researchers do say that more research into this is needed but it is known that malnutrition during the developmental stage is linked to seizure activity.

Another study has shown that babies who were fed breast milk for longer than six months have better mental health during childhood and fewer mental disorders later in life. The statistics of mental health issues in children who were breastfed for less than six months or not at all is astonishing, showing that by age two they are already at a 52 percent increased risk of having mental health problems than children who were breastfed for longer than six months.

Not enough research has been done on this subject. Not enough mothers are aware of the impact positive and/or negative that breastfeeding has on their child’s physical and mental health. Statistics have shown that only 32 percent of mothers continue breastfeeding their babies for six months or longer.

The postpartum period begins immediately after the birth of the baby until the body has healed, which is approximately six to eight weeks. During this time many new moms have a tendency to forget to care for own needs while they are caring for their new baby’s needs. It is important, however, that a new mom take the time and effort to take care of their needs as well. During the postpartum period a new mom will go through many physical and emotional changes. She needs to rebuild her strength by getting plenty of rest, eating right, and getting help during the first few weeks.

Since getting a full night’s sleep is not an option at this point there are other ways that a new mom needs to get her rest. In the first few weeks after a baby is born it is important that new moms be relieved of all responsibilities other than caring for herself and her baby. Sleeping when the baby is asleep is vital to getting the rest you need. Getting outside for a few minutes a day and starting postpartum exercises as soon as your physician will allow will also aid in improving overall energy.

Proper nutrition is needed to promote healing and recovery from the birthing process. Eating a healthy, well-balanced diet will also aid in rebuilding strength and speed up the recovery process. Many new moms find that they are too busy or tired to eat on a regular basis. Therefore, it may be advisable to plan an eating schedule to keep you on track with your nutrition.

If you are a parent, then the likelihood is good that you have a lot of various expenses to tackle from month to month, not only the costs of maintaining your home, but vehicles, and raising your children as well. Expenses can really add up when you are a parent, and so it can be difficult to put money away into savings every month. If you run into a situation where you need to save up for a large purchase, then there are going to be a number of steps that you will want to take to put away just a little bit more money than you were capable of doing before.

For example, car refinancing an auto loan is a great way to lessen the monthly expense burden that you have so that you can put more money away every month. Another option that is available for you is to downgrade some of your services, such as by lessening your cable or internet speeds to save a few dollars. Refinancing a mortgage, couponing, debt consolidation loans and many other options are available to you as well, so your primary concern should be to create a plan that you can follow, slowly but surely paring down your expenses as needed so that you can put more money into savings every month.

There are a number of different things that you can do to break down your expenses, but having a plan is essential to your success. Make a list of all your expenses, and then take notes on how you can reduce each one to give you more saving and spending money to play around with every month in the future. If you have big expenses that you need to save for, then paring down your budget is a great way to get the ball rolling.

It is a well-known fact that breast milk contains cells, hormones, and antibodies to protect your baby from illness and the proper nutrients for your child to grow and develop properly. However, were you aware of the health risks to your baby if you feed formula? Formula-fed babies are more likely to experience problems with ear infections and diarrhea than breast fed babies. Formula-fed babies also have a higher risk for gastrointestinal issues, asthma, lower respiratory tract infections, skin rashes, obesity, diabetes, and childhood leukemia. There is some evidence to suggest that breastfeeding also reduces the chances of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).

In addition to the obvious health benefits of breastfeeding for the baby, there are many benefits for the mother as well. Breastfeeding is less complicated than formula feeding and can make life easier. There is nothing to prepare, no bottles to clean or sterilize, and no formula to buy, measure, and mix. Initially breastfeeding may be more difficult but once you and your baby settle into the routine and your body adjusts, it becomes much more convenient and easier on you both. Breastfeeding will also save you money. Not only will you save money on formula and supplies, breast-fed babies are sick much less often so you will also be saving money on doctor and hospital bills.

Breastfeeding is important for bonding. Newborns and infants need physical contact. Breastfeeding can help the infant feel comforted, warm, and secure. The mother will also benefit from the closeness that breastfeeding brings to mother and child.

The health benefits extend to the breastfeeding mother as well. Breastfeeding is linked to a lower risk for type 2 diabetes, breast cancer, ovarian cancer, and postpartum depression. Researchers are still looking at the effect of breastfeeding on osteoporosis and weight loss after birth.

Most people in the younger generation are more familiar with, and accepting of, the reality that people get pregnant outside of wedlock. It’s no easy thing to tell your own, or your soon-to-be bride’s, parents that you’ve chosen to get married. Add on the fact that you’re also expecting a baby, and it gets even tougher. Even harder still is planning a wedding while you’re pregnant. If you work full-time as well, the challenge can seem insurmountable. Here are some tips to help you cope, and handle the planning as well.

Remember that morning sickness is worst in the first three months, then tapers off. It will be nearly impossible to wake up and get anything done before work; plan to make most wedding planning decisions after work. As for contacting businesses, such as the caterers and the hall rental location, as well as the bridesmaid shop, remember that many close around the time that you get off work. You’ll do best to use some time during your lunch breaks to make arrangements. Staring at diamond engagement rings might be all that you feel capable of doing, but you’ve got to accept that arranging a wedding is like taking on a whole new job. You’ll be fielding and making calls left and right.

Your best bet is to get any of your close friends who aren’t currently working to help you out. They’ll make calls while you’re busy; even if they only get price quotes, their efforts will save you time. Be sure to tell the dress supplier the situation. Even if the older generation struggles with the idea of a pregnant bride, dressmakers are familiar with the concept, and will work with you to alter the dress as required immediately before the wedding day. Just remember that you can do it better with assistance!

You have always heard that breastfeeding is best for your baby, but do you really know why? The choice to breastfeed is a very personal one. Only you can decide what is best for you and your baby. Learning the facts about breast milk and its benefits for your baby as well as the benefits breastfeeding can have for you and your baby is important to aid you in your decision.

Colostrum, which is sometimes referred to as “liquid gold” is the first breast milk that your body makes during pregnancy and shortly after the birth of your baby. This milk is a thick yellowish liquid and is rich in vital nutrients and antibodies to protect your baby. Your newborn has a tiny stomach and will only eat small amounts at each feeding in the beginning.

As your baby grows your breast milk will change. Colostrum changes into what is referred to as mature milk within the first few days after your baby is born. By the fifth day your breast milk will now have the correct amount of sugar, water, and protein to help your baby grow and develop. It is thinner and more watery than colostrum but has the correct amount of nutrients and antibodies that your baby needs.

Some people may wonder why breast milk is so much better for babies than formula. For most babies, especially premature babies, breast milk is easier to digest than formula. The protein in most formula is made from cow’s milk and it takes the baby’s digestive system longer to digest.

In addition to the issue of digestion, there is also the nutritional value. Breast milk contains cells, hormones, and antibodies which help to fight disease and prevent illnesses in babies. The protection provided by breast milk is unique and the chemical makeup of human milk cannot be matched by formula.

Everybody knows that motherhood is a very time consuming, stressful experience for any woman. Once you have a child, your entire life changes dramatically, both emotionally and financially. While a woman may think that she has to give up all facets of her independent self and evolvement, this simply isn’t true. Today, a lot of stay-at-home mothers all over the country are taking advantage of the prevalence of online universities and signing up for courses via distance learning.

By going back to school for a degree, women are reaping the benefits of learning new things, challenging their minds, sparking their creativity, and being part of an academic community. You can do this too! With all that you will learn, you can start your own business, start a new career or further your current one, make more money, or merely enjoy the journey of learning. And while these are all great aspects, they are not the only benefits to online degrees; you will also be teaching your children how to live a happier, more quality, cultured life by way of education, thus leading them by being a great example.

Of course, earning a degree of any kind takes a lot of discipline and hard work to acquire. But, the benefits you will enjoy throughout the rest of your life are worth it. Even if you do not desire, or need to, earn more income for your family, the money you make can go towards living a more comfortable, secure life full of extra activities and opportunities. It is also important to consider that children only get more expensive as they get older, so the best time to earn your degree is when your children are small. That way, you are preparing you and your family for an overall better quality of life.

While breastfeeding there are many times you may experience pain and discomfort in your breasts and/or nipple area. Whether you are new to breastfeeding or have breastfed before you will most likely experience issues at some point. In the first few weeks of breastfeeding it is normal to experience some engorgement, soreness of the nipples, and possibly even some drying and cracking of the nipple area. Although you may be doing everything right to prevent these things from happening, the fact is that your body is going through some major changes and you may still experience some discomfort from time to time.

Throughout your breastfeeding experience you may also find that you may have a day here or there that the baby just does not eat as often or a time when you have been gone all day and unable to feed the baby or express the milk as often as you would like. This can result in engorgement of the breasts or even at times may lead to a blocked milk duct or even the beginning of mastitis.

All of these discomforts and problems can be dealt with easily. During the first few weeks of breastfeeding you may find comfort in placing an ice pack on the breasts to help with the discomfort of engorgement. Expressing some of the milk will also help to relieve some of the discomfort. Although, you do not want to completely milk out between feedings because the more milk you express the more milk your body will produce.

For nipple soreness, again placing ice packs on the breasts can help relieve some of the discomfort. It is also important to keep your nipple area dry and clean to prevent a secondary infection and to allow the nipples to heal and prevent further problems. To keep the nipple area dry between feedings using a nursing pad designed to trap milk leaks and pull moisture away from the body is essential. You will also want to apply a high quality lanolin oil or vitamin E oil to protect the nipple and help in the healing process.

If you’re a new dad and you see that Mother’s Day is coming up, you may want to take some time to plan a great gift for the new mom. There are plenty of things you can do on your own, but you’ll probably want to include the baby in at least some of the day. Then, you can also give mom some time alone to do something that she will really enjoy and that she can use to relax and feel like she’s being pampered. Things like massages, long bubble baths, or a day at the spa are great ways to show that you understand her need to relax.

Of course, you can’t include the baby in these, so you might want to also consider offering her breakfast in bed, with some fresh-picked flowers and the baby dressed in a cute outfit that fits the day. You can choose baby costumes online and have them sent right to your door, so there’s no need to spend a lot of time out shopping for something. Just find one or two that are really cute and you and the baby can give mom a great present for her first official Mother’s Day.

It’s quite possible that Mother’s Day won’t turn out perfectly. That’s part of life, and it’s especially true when it’s the first one and there’s a learning curve that goes with it. You don’t have to try so hard that you end up making things stressful for yourself and for the new mom. Don’t try to make everything spectacular. Just be thoughtful and understanding, and offer mom the kinds of things you know she likes. Your consideration and love will help her to have a great day. That’s really all she needs – to know that she’s appreciated and that she can get some time to herself to just relax.

Determining whether or not to breastfeed is a major decision. I’m sure you are aware of the health benefits for your baby when breastfeeding and have done the research. However, there is also the emotional and physical impact on you to consider as well. This is one aspect of breastfeeding that is not always addressed. Breastfeeding can be very physically and emotionally demanding. You may find that it is much more difficult that you initially thought it would be. Your body will be going through changes that can be very painful at times. In fact, many new moms will quit breastfeeding in the first few days or even weeks because they find it just too difficult to do.

You do not have to work through all of this on your own, however. There are many breastfeeding support groups. The largest and most well-known breastfeeding support group is Le Leche League, which has been around for a very long time. Most hospitals and/or clinics now offer breastfeeding classes and support groups as well. Whether this is your first baby or your fifth baby, joining a breastfeeding support group can be immensely helpful to you especially during the first few weeks while you are struggling with healing from the birthing process as well as the changes your body is going through.

Some women feel that they should know what to do, that somehow it should just be instinctive, and besides how hard can it be? There is more to know that just placing the baby to the breast. For first-time moms it is advisable to take a breastfeeding class that can walk you through what to expect and how to manage things while you are starting out. Having the information ahead of time as well as having a group of people that you can go to for help and support will be essential to your success. With the knowledge and support you need you will find that the whole experience will become easier and more relaxing.

Depression is a common cause of substance abuse, largely because people who are suffering from mental disorders turn to drugs and alcohol to “self medicate” as a way of dealing with their problems. Drinking away your depression is a common behavior, but unfortunately, alcohol is a depressant and only exacerbates the problem rather than improving it. Women who are suffering from postpartum depression following the birth of a child are unfortunately especially susceptible to alcohol abuse issues.

Postpartum depression and alcoholism are often considered to be co-occurring disorders. What this means is that it is especially common for someone with postpartum depression to attempt to deal with the problem with alcohol until the alcohol abuse becomes a problem all of its own, making it even harder for the woman to get the help that she needs. If you know someone or have a loved one who is struggling with a combination of postpartum depression and alcohol addiction, then know that there is help out there for her and you can help her find the support and the care that she needs in order to overcome both problems.

TheCyn.com is a rehab facility that has the tools and support needed to help a woman through her issues with alcoholism and post partum depression. If you know someone who is suffering through these issues and needs help, know that the support and care she needs is available, and you can play a vital role in helping her to admit her problem and get the help that she really and truly needs. Your support can be invaluable in helping a loved one get the detoxification and rehabilitation help that she needs so that she can eliminate both issues from her life simultaneously, which is the best way to ensure that they do not return to haunt her in the future.

Does this situation sound familiar: you’ve just paid your bills, your bank account is empty, and payday is still a week away. Suddenly, your child comes down with a fever, and you need to take her to the doctor and get her medicine. What do you do?

This situation, and others like it, is a big concern to parents who live paycheck-to-paycheck. They plan for every bill that must be covered during the month, but don’t have any funds left for emergencies. Then, like Newton’s Law, an emergency pops up with your kids that you need to take care of. You could go to your family or friends, but they’re in the same situation as you, and don’t have the money to loan. You could ask your boss for an advance, but he’s dead set against it. So, what can you do?

One option you have open to you is to get a payday advance loan. There are several companies available that allow you to borrow against your next paycheck for a small fee, allowing you to get the money you need today, and not have to worry about paying it back until your next paycheck comes in. GreatPlainsLending is one such company. GreatPlainsLending offers several types of loans, including home equity, short term personal, and fast cash or payday loans. A fast cash loan, also known as a payday loan, is perfect to help you take care of unexpected expenses.

Payday loans are easy to qualify for at GreatPlainsLending. All you need to apply for one are your previous paycheck stubs. You’ll have up to two weeks to pay the loan back, so you won’t have to worry about coming up with the money to repay the loan before your next paycheck comes in. Most locations charge $30 for every $100 you borrow, which makes calculating your loan fee easy, and repaying it simple.

For a simple, easy-to-pay-back payday loan, visit GreatPlainsLending.

When your baby is born the first thing you will do if you are breastfeeding is offer the breast to your newborn for his/her first feeding. Typically the first day or two you will only be producing colostrum, which is an essential nutrient for your baby. Your baby needs to receive colostrum as soon as possible after birth and as often as you can get your baby to drink within the first 24 hours following birth. Colostrum is important for boosting your baby’s immune system and jump starting the digestive process.

When your baby first begins to latch on it may be very painful. This is the hardest part for new moms to handle and work through. The nipples may become sore, raw, and may even crack. Some of the things that new moms can do to prevent this and help to alleviate some of the drying and cracking are to cover the nipple with lanolin, vitamin E oil, or express some milk or colostrum and rub over the nipple area. This provides protection to the nipple area with a layer of oil that will help the nipple retain essential moisture to prevent the drying out and cracking that can occur during the initial breastfeeding period while the body is adjusting.

Besides just applying one of the above-mentioned oils to the nipple it is important to keep the nipple from staying wet by using a nursing pad designed to soak up leaking milk and keep it from sitting against the skin and causing irritation. Because of the irritation and pain that can be associated with breastfeeding during the initial first few weeks, there are also now nursing pads designed with a gel-like substance that forms around the breast and nipple area and protects the nipple from rubbing against clothing and further irritating it. Some of these gel-like nursing pads also include lanolin on the surface which gives the added protection to the nipple area to reduce or alleviate nipple cracking and soreness.

There’s a reason that the term “Terrible Twos” is so familiar to parents. Toddlers in this age group are fussy, opinionated, and energetic. These little ones are really beginning to give shape to their personality, and that means trying to be a bit more independent. This leads to showdowns with mom and dad over any number of minor issues. From refusing to go to bed and being stubborn about food choices to not wanting to share to biting, these children can try even the most patient parents.

At this age, toddlers are becoming more mobile. Most are crawling and are beginning to pull up to a standing position. During this year of life, most toddlers will learn to walk on their own. This creates countless opportunities for toddlers to get into areas of the home that are off limits.

It’s also during this time that toddlers are teething. This painful process can drag on for weeks at a time before a particular tooth breaks through the gums. Teething can interfere with a child’s mood, ability to eat, bedtime, and can even cause children to run a low grade fever. This is just one more reason the twos are terrible.

There are some bright spots for two-year-olds. This is the time when they begin to talk, expanding their vocabulary beyond “mama,” “da-da,” and “no.” Also, their receptive language skills are really in high gear, meaning they understand far more than they can say.

Parents don’t have to deal with the stress of raising a two-year-old alone. There are many online resources including planningfamily.com where parents can seek advice on developmental milestones, handling temper tantrums, potential medical concerns, and strategies to improve your child’s behavior. Learning that your two-year-old isn’t the only toddler who rolls on the floor as she pitches a fit will provide some comfort. Knowing how to deal with your child’s behavior in a positive way is priceless.

Family Game Night is more than just an evening together as a family. It’s more than having fun and connecting with the family as a whole. Family Game Night can easily be one of the strongest bonding and enduring activities you can have with your children for so many reasons. Beyond the obvious skills of learning to get along both in team and individual environments, communicating with other family members and getting along with one another, it is a time that bonds and strengthens the family through shared experiences and laughter. In this day and age, these precious evenings together are becoming both more and more important and necessary.

Considering the modern family’s hectic schedule, it’s important to set aside a specific night, mark it down on all the calendars and make sure you are fully committed to that date. Once it’s set, it will be imperative that work, other opportunities or obligations do not get in the way as that will send an undesirable message to the kids. Also, plan in advance. If you don’t have games on hand, purchase some in advance to make sure you don’t forget at the last minute. Consider looking at garage sales or online forums for slightly used ones to ease the budget, or create game library sharing group with other parents to share games between different families. Be sure to invest in games that will be of interest to the kids to ensure that everyone will want to be involved.

The dining room table can easily double as makeshift poker tables or game tables, or the living room coffee table may suffice as well. Different variations of family night can keep the excitement high by occasionally inviting family friends over to join in the fun, or take the fun and games outside on nice nights for games like badminton or croquet.

Anyone who is a parent can agree that it is difficult to get children to keep their warm clothing on, even when the temperature turns chilly. For some reason, many children simply do not like to wear coats, gloves, hats, and other warm essentials. Babies especially will pull a hat or gloves off almost instantly, regardless of how cold it may be. However, purchasing outwear from Rocawear can help, since the clothing line combines style, comfort, and warmth, all rolled into one. Launched by Jay-Z and Damon Dash in 1999, the clothing pieces can complement any style and are designed for all ages and sizes. There are also pieces in the collection that are designed for layering, to make sure children stay warm.

Older children are more likely to wear this clothing because of its appeal from celebrity endorsement. Thousands of celebrities, young and old, have been photographed wearing pieces from the Rocawear collection, and many of the items feature the signature “R” logo somewhere on them. The line offers footwear, outerwear, loungewear, accessories, and everyday items for men, women, girls, and boys, and all of the pieces are more affordable than might be expected with such a high reputation. The clothing line has been featured in fashion and other magazines and offer unique and stylish looks that can be customized to enhance any appearance. Keeping children warm during the cold winter months is very important to keeping them healthy and ready for each new day, and the warmth that comes with a Rocawear jacket or hoodie is sure to help bundle them up to protect against the elements. Keeping children dressed in sturdy and stylish outerwear is the best way for parents to ensure that the children will want to wear the jacket, and thus eliminate the daily fight of trying to get the children to bundle up before heading outside.

Congratulations on deciding to breastfeed your baby! If you are new to breastfeeding there are several things you will need to know and understand to be successful in this venture. You need to enter into breastfeeding with an understanding that it is not as easy as it looks and that there are many things to consider and remember while you are learning and your body is adjusting. Learning everything you can about breastfeeding beforehand will help you to enter into this new experience with confidence. It will also help you to fully understand and be ready for the challenges that can arise while you and your baby are learning the breastfeeding process.

First and foremost you need to remember that everyone is unique and different. No two bodies are exactly the same. Some women have milk come in right away where others may take several days before their milk comes in. Some women have an overabundance of milk and others may struggle with having enough. Each baby is different as well. One newborn may understand the whole process right away and latch on immediately when put up to the breast. However, another baby may not have a strong suck reflex and/or may just not be able to quite grasp what they are supposed to do with that nipple that is being introduced to them. While some babies will latch on tight and suck hard others may take time to latch on, may suck light and be on and off the nipple throughout the feeding.

Understanding this, listening to your own body, and learning your baby’s individual eating style are all essential to helping you through the first few weeks. It is difficult to not get discouraged or feel that you just can’t get it right, but with time and patience you and your baby will get this figured out. Remember women have been breastfeeding their babies and surviving it for thousands of years!

Owning a pet is a huge responsibility, and no matter how much you might try and convince a child of that, it is hard for them to truly understand. Still, that doesn’t deter a child from wanting a pet.

In most cases it is not the pet that gives the parents pause, it’s the idea of having to take care of the pet themselves that puts them off. Sure, they are assured their child would love the pet and treat it in the best way they know how, but then seeing their child dressing up the neighbor’s dog in pet costumes and parading it around the neighborhood makes them wonder.

So how does a parent determine if their child is ready for the responsibilities of owning a pet? The easiest and most immediate way is to look at their child’s track record of responsibility as it stands now. Parents should ask themselves if their child is able to do the things they are asked to do, if they clean their room when they are told, and if are they a good student who is well behaved in class and knows that homework comes before play. If a child appears absentminded already, it’s tough to think they are going to get a pet and gain a sense of responsibility that they don’t already have. Then again, having a pet can also teach a child responsibility if the importance of caring for their pet is explained in full.

If a child seems serious about being a pet owner it is worth giving it a try. Setting up a list of daily chores that are similar to the chores needed to care for a pet can help. Of course, if they get a pet it is important for the parent to set ground rules; there must be certain things in place so that if a child doesn’t do their job, they don’t get to keep the pet.

You may think that paramedics and others in the rescue or health care profession are the only ones who need to know CPR and first aid, but the truth is, everyone should have CPR training and at least a rudimentary knowledge of first aid. Knowing these two things can mean the difference between life and death in accidents.

This can be especially true because of Canada’s rather harsh winters. For some people, simply being exposed to the cold weather, however briefly, can bring on a heart attack. Others can suffer heart attacks while trying to shovel snow or remove ice, or trying to negotiate through deep snow. For these people, CPR can mean they will live to fight another day. The cold weather can also bring opportunities for slips and falls, although these can occur during the warmer months also. First aid training can ensure that an injury does not become worse.

CPR and first aid are really not something that can be learned online. You must be able to do some “hands-on” practice, especially where CPR is concerned. However, using Canada 411 to find CPR and first aid classes will assure you of finding those places that offer the training you need.

Knowing CPR and first aid can be a tremendous benefit to you and your family. Not only will you be able to take care of your immediate family members, you may also be able to provide aid to neighbors or friends. Using Canada 411 can help you find classes that all family members, including children (although there may be an age limit) can attend.

If you are worried about having the time to attend CPR and first aid classes, check Canada 411 resources for places that hold evening classes or provide access to classes being held on the weekends. This way, you can fit acquiring these important skills into your schedule.

Most babies born today have at least a minor issue with jaundice for the first week of life. There are many myths about jaundice and why some babies have it worse than others. There is also a lot of fear for first-time parents when they are dealing with jaundice in their newborn baby.

Jaundice is actually caused by a high level of bilirubin in the blood which in turn causes the skin and the whites of the eyes to have a yellow appearance. Normally the liver processes bilirubin in the blood so it can then be removed from the body during a bowel movement. Before birth it is the job of the placenta to remove the bilirubin from the baby’s body so that it can be processed through the mother’s liver. Once the baby is born and the connection to the placenta is severed the baby’s own liver then takes over the job of ridding the body of bilirubin. This can take a little bit of time as the liver begins working and trying to process things, therefore, higher than normal bilirubin levels are normal in newborn babies.

For the most part jaundice is not a worrisome condition in newborn babies and is a normal part of the process converting from womb to the outside world. However, because an increasing bilirubin level can be the indication of a more serious problem it is watched closely at birth until the levels drop. If the bilirubin levels do not drop on their own within the first couple of days or when the levels are very high, further testing will most likely be pursued to determine if there is some other underlying cause for the high levels.

Although some babies do need to have a little additional help with reducing their bilirubin levels such as being placed under a special heat lamp or being required to sleep with a Biliblanket, most infants are able to process the bilirubin on their own quickly and without any further complications.

When you get divorced, your entire world changes all around you. Of course, the emotional turmoil you are going through and moving back into a life you have not known for years are only some of the changes that you are going to have to make. Another inevitable change is going to be in your tax status. How you file, what you can deduct, and some other issues are going to get a little bit more complicated than they were when you were a “happy” couple filing together. Just remember that your tax status does not change instantaneously when you get divorced- those changes are a little bit slower to come about.

One of the biggest misconceptions about your taxes is that when you get divorced, you have to file as single that year. The most effective way to file is to do so as married and filing separately. This way, you can deduct your own things, claim your own credits, and not have to worry about further mixing up your financial life with your ex partner’s. With all of the emotions that typically run through people during the divorce process, you probably want nothing less than to be further associated with them. You can even use a free tax calculator to help you figure out where you’ll come out.

Did you know that when you pay for something, you can deduct it? For instance, if you are paying for your child’s college tuition, you can claim the American Opportunity higher education credit up to $2,500. And if you are paying your former spouse alimony in cash, as lined up in the terms of the divorce, you can also deduct that amount. As far as claiming your child as a dependent, you can only do so if the child lived with you for more of the tax year in question than they did with your ex spouse.

During the first week at home with your newborn baby there will be a lot of changes going on both with you and your baby. You will be exhausted from the physical toll labor and delivery has had on your body as well as the exhaustion caused from the healing process your body is going through. In addition to the physical exhaustion you will be facing you will also most likely be faced with very little sleep as you and your baby adjust to this new life you are venturing into.

During this first week at home with your baby you can expect to spend a lot of time feeding your baby and changing diapers. Newborn babies do not eat a lot at a time so may need to eat more often throughout the day. If you are breastfeeding you will find that you are most likely doing very little other than feeding your baby for the first few weeks.

Newborns are learning to adjust to their new environment in many ways. If your baby is having issues with jaundice he/she may be sleeping more as jaundice causes drowsiness. Some babies, however, will not sleep much at first as they adjust to life in the real world. It is vitally important for you to sleep when your baby is sleeping. You may feel that you need to accomplish things around the house, run errands, or even just watch your baby sleep. Do not give into these temptations! Your body is trying to recover from a very physically trying experience and it needs the time to do that.

There will be so many new experiences for you and your baby during this time. Take the time to enjoy your new baby but pamper yourself as well. Spend your first week at home recuperating from labor and delivery, relax as much as possible, sleep whenever you can, and enjoy every minute with your new baby.

Selecting a baby’s name is a lifetime gift to the son or daughter. Naming a baby is a process that should be entered into slowly, deliberately and thoughtfully.

Everyone an expecting couple knows will have name suggestions – especially family members. It is perfectly okay to resist the going along with family suggestions- unless the name sounds right and appropriate to the parents to be. Either way, the best way to handle these well meaning suggestions is to announce the baby’s name after he or she is born.

Consider how a name sounds. The way it reads on paper and the way it sounds are totally different. Say the name out loud and listen to how it sounds. Does it have a pleasant and appealing sound? Does the name flow or does it sound harsh? How do the first and last names sound together?

Remember that the name will follow the child for the rest of his or her life. Avoid names with embarrassing nicknames. Also stay away from names that rhyme or that are puns.

Unique spelling or sounding names tend to stick in people’s memories. At the same time, if the name is to difficult to spell or pronounce, it may become more of a nuisance than a conversation starter for a child later in life. Common names, while easier to forget, might be perceived better.

Every potential name has a derivation from another country or culture. It is worth taking the time to research names to see their country of origin and meaning, especially the name is part of a family’s heritage.

The name given is an important element in a baby’s earliest sense of security. The parents need to feel completely comfortable with the name they pick and realize that the baby will need to feel equally comfortable with the name as a child and into adulthood.

Baby cribs are handed down from generation to generation as evidenced by the fact that although there are four million babies born in the United States every year, there are only one million new cribs sold during the same period. While there may be a lot of sentiment attached to a hand-me-down cribs, there are important safety issues to consider.

There are several new baby crib manufacturers making cribs in one of four styles. Standard cribs have one or two sided drops. Convertible cribs, while more expensive, convert to a toddler’s bed and can be used longer. Canopy cribs are simply a modification of the standard crib. Round cribs are increasingly popular and only have a one-sided drop. The newer version of the drop side crib has sides that are folded rather than raised or lowered.

All cribs must meet minimum government requirements. The distance between the slats can be no more than 2 3/8 inches. When lowered, the drop side must be nine inches above the mattress support; when raised the support must be 26 inches above the support. The mattress must fit snugly and have not more than two fingers distance between the crib side and the mattress. The mattress support should connect to both sides securely and be made of metal to support a jumping toddler safely. Other crib requirements include height adjustment for the mattress, casters and teething bars on both sides.

Avoid cribs built before 1973. They may contain lead paints that is toxic for humans and be built with slats that are too far apart. Recalled cribs are another concern to be aware of. The Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) tracks rib safety and maintains data on recalled cribs. This information can be viewed at cpsc.gov or at recalls.gov. Voluntary safety standards have also been published by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). Cribs meeting the voluntary standards are certified by the Juvenile Products Manufacture’s Association (JPMA).

One of the first orders of business a couple needs to tend to before the baby is born is to purchase a car seat to bring the baby home in. There is a simple three part rule of thumb for the baby’s car seat. The seat needs to fit the baby, fit the car and be easy for the parents to install.

All car seats sold in the United States must meet or exceed rigorous federal crash and fire safety testing and state on the car seat that it complies with Federal Motor Vehicle Standard 213. Certification by the Juvenile Product Manufacture’s Association (JPMA) is also an important notation on a car seat. As of 2002, all new cars are equipped with anchors in the rear to attach to the car seat. Older car seats should not be used.

The most important criteria in selecting a car seat is how securely the seat fits in the car and how safely the baby is fastened. Newborns, up to 20 pounds, must have a rear facing car seat. The weight limit is notated on the car seat. Beyond 20 pounds, a child can sit in a front facing car seat – still anchored to the back seat of the car. The American Association of Pediatricians (AAP) recommends that a baby be kept in a rear facing seat as long as possible. As for height, the baby’s head must be at least one inch below the top of a rear facing seat. When installed properly, a car seat should have less than one inch movement in any direction.

The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimates that 80 percent of all car seats are incorrectly installed. Before purchasing a car seat, it should be installed to see if it fits the cat and is easy to use The NHTSA take this idea one step further and recommends having the seat inspected for proper installation.

One of the consistent pieces of advice given to expecting mothers is to select a pediatrician well in advance of the child’s birth. The process of finding a pediatrician should be well under way by the eighth month of pregnancy.

The best source of referrals is friends who have children. Once the list is narrowed down to two or three possible choices think about what is important in making the decision. Is the location of the doctor’s office a consideration? Does health insurance cover the choices? How about hospital affiliation? Think about what is important in the doctor’s philosophy of care. Is the doctor’s age and sex important? These and other questions are guides to ranking the criteria for a doctor that meets the parents’ expectations as well as the baby’s needs.

The next step is to set up short meetings with each of the final choices. Go to the pediatrician’s office early enough to get a feel for the practice. Several pediatricians are usually in a practice together. Talk to the office staff. They can often provide insights to the practice.

A meeting with a perspective doctor should last about 15 minutes and focus on credentials, philosophy of care, hospital affiliations and accreditation. Each doctor should be a member of the American Association of Pediatricians (AAP) or another recognized professional pediatric group. Questions to ask should also include office hours, availability after hours and billing policies.

Once each pediatrician has been interviewed, it’s time to sit down and reflect on what each doctor said and, more importantly, the comfort level felt with each doctor. There must be a strong comfort level between the doctor and the parents in this relationship and strong agreement with on care. Remember that the selection is made with the intent that the doctor chosen will be overseeing the care and health of the baby until adulthood. That is a long time and confidence in the choice is important.

The bonding of a mother and newborn has been described as a complex process and a continuation of the relationship between mother and child during pregnancy. In its simplest terms bonding is intense emotional attachment to a newborn baby – an almost fierce desire to care for and protect. It is an emotion that has existed in humans for thousands of years.

Bonding can occur within seconds of holding the new baby or it can take several days – it varies and that is normal. Some mothers may not feel a strong bond initially. It is an overwhelming experience to bring a new life into the world as well as traumatic for the baby to leave the womb.

Interestingly, studies show that strong bonding increases a baby’s brain power by increasing neural pathways. There are some important steps that a mother can take to strengthen the bond. Ensuring that the baby’s environment is calm and pleasant, playing quiet music and reading out loud accustoms the newborn to the sounds and senses of life outside the womb and the child to feel secure.

Close interaction with a newborn is also an essential part of the bonding process. Babies can see fairly well up to a foot and will gaze intently at faces. Close face to face contact is another way of helping a newborn start to recognize familiar faces.

Gentle massage is another recommended source of bonding for both the baby and the mother. Massaging is more than soothing to a baby, it is also contributes to emotionally development and increases sensory awareness. It is one of many non-verbal ways of building trust with a newborn.

The close ties fostered by bonding form the first model of an intimate relationship for a baby and helps build a sense of security and positive feelings about self for the newbor

Adoption is a wonderful option for starting or adding to a family. There are many children who desperately need a home with a loving family in the United States and abroad. However, the adoption process is often long, involved and requires patience.

There are two basic avenues for adoption – domestic and international. Each has its own unique path.

Domestic adoption encompasses several options that apply to different scenarios and parental choices. A domestic adoption is typically handled in one of two ways. One path is through either a public agency such as social services or a licensed private adoption agency. This is generally considered the safest way to adopt because the agency monitors the process.

A second path is an independent adoption using the services of an attorney as permitted by state law. In this situation, the adopting couple has often identified the prospective source for the adoption.

In domestic adoptions, state laws governing adoption must be met. If the process involves interstate adoption, the laws of both states involved must be complied with under Interstate Compact – legislation that most states have agreed on for adoption across state lines. A home study that examines and certifies that the couple is fit to adopt is usually required by the agency processing the adoption and the state where to couple resides. Home studies are also required for international adoptions.

International adoption, like domestic adoption, has adoption agencies or attorneys that specialize in overseas adoptions. However, international adoption is more complicated because every country has specific rules and requirements that must be met. The U.S. government and the resident state’s laws must also be met. U.S law requires prospective adopting couples to provide several documents for proof of marriage, age and suitability as parents. This paperwork generally takes 60-90 days to process. There is a slight element of risk involved in completing an international adoption because countries occasionally change their laws or stop allowing international adoptions.

With a new baby in a family, relatives will be excited and anxious to meet the newest member. In many cases, that may mean traveling more than around the block.

Pediatricians and other experts on baby care recommend that a newborn stay near home for at least the first month for several reasons. First, the mother needs time to recover from the pregnancy and birthing. The baby also needs time to adjust to the new surroundings and begin to get into a routine. There is also a lot of adjusting for the entire family to do when a new life enters the home.

Doctors suggest that any travel be put on hold until the baby is at least two and preferably three months old. By this point the newborn’s immune system is stronger and can fend off infections and viruses encountered around crowds better. This is an important consideration when traveling by air.

When flying, make reservations well in advance and ask for aisle seating. Seating in the front is quieter; seating in the rear is closer to the restrooms. Most domestic airlines will allow a newborn to fly for free if the baby is carried and held in a parent’s lap.

However, this is not necessarily the safest way for one so young to travel. On many airlines a baby bassinet that fits securely on a plane seat can be reserved for babies up to eight months old. If unavailable, a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) car seat will work just as well and will ensure that the baby is secured during the flight.

Be sure to pack necessary baby items conveniently in carry-on luggage. Note that the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) allows three to four ounces of formula to be carried onto the plane. Also make sure to have a favorite sucking toy in case the change in air pressure during take off and landing bothers the baby’s young ears.

Since the introduction of disposable baby diapers the debate has been – which is better, disposable or cloth diapers? There are four main arguing points; the environment, cost, convenience and, most importantly, comfort.

Proponents of cloth diapers argue that because disposable diapers are thrown away after being used, they add more to landfills. Those who favor disposable diapers counter that the water, soap and electricity used to wash cloth diapers uses a lot of energy. Neither side cites any data to support their position.

As for cost, disposable diapers run between $50 and $60 per month – the cost of convenience. A cloth diaper service is also costs about $50 to $80 a month, depending on the amount of competition and the quality of the diaper provided. Laundering cloth diapers at home is the least expensive option and is estimated at $20 to $60 a month. The cost here depends on the quality of the diaper and the amount of laundering done. From a cost perspective, home laundering is the best way to go.

As for convenience, disposable diapers certainly come out ahead. They are easier to change and there is less leakage. However, newer cloth diapers are designed to be easier to change and use Velcro strips rather than safety pins for fastening.

The most important concern is the baby’s comfort. Cloth diapers are definitely more comfortable to a baby’s skin. There is also less likelihood of diaper rash with cloth. The reasons for diaper rash all come down to one cause – urine on the skin for too long. With cloth it is easier to notice wetness quicker. With disposables, on the other hand, wetness is not as quickly detected. Statistics indicate that babies wearing cloth diapers have fewer incidences of diaper rash. Regardless of choice, the solution is to change diapers frequently.

Another suggested solution also makes sense – use cloth diapers during the day and disposables at night.

Postpartum depression (PPD) is a form of clinical depression that occurs in women after they have given birth. The illness can last anywhere from two weeks up to one year. The length and severity of PPD is what distinguishes it from a milder form called “baby blues.” It is estimated that 80 percent of women experience some level of emotional disturbance following childbirth. One expert described PPD as, “a complication of giving birth.”

While the methodology is unclear, it is estimated that 5 to 25 percent of women clearly have PPD. The signs of postpartum depression are much the same as other forms of depression: sadness, fatigue, decreased libido, feelings of worthlessness and in the case of PPD, difficulty caring for the baby. The mothers often feel afraid and alone because they lack a strong support network.

The cause of postpartum depression appears to be sudden changes in hormonal levels following childbirth. It is known that levels of the hormones estrogen and progesterone increase during pregnancy and rapidly return to normal following birth of the baby. It is believed that these quick changes trigger PPD.

The most effective treatments are counseling and antidepressants. Interestingly, hormone treatment seems to have little positive effect on postpartum depression. Most women respond well to treatment and get over PPD within a few months. When antidepressants are the course of treatment, it is important for the doctor to know if the mother is breast feeding her baby because the antidepressant will make its way into the breast milk.

Risk factors for postpartum depression include previous episodes of depression, a lack of strong social support and psychosocial stress. There is often a history of depression in the mother’s family.

Postpartum depression is far from uncommon in new mothers. One statistic suggests that one in eight women suffer from PPD. So, it is important for the mother to get medical help immediately if the depressed feelings last more than two weeks.

Many expecting couples automatically expect their baby to be born at the hospital where their attending doctor has privileges. That doesn’t necessarily have to be the case. Couples – especially the expecting wife-should have input into the hospital that is selected. Taking the time before to research and pick a hospital in advance will help make the birthing experience easier.

Every hospital has its own set of policies. Some of the policies are written in stone; others have some flexibility built in. One of the first questions to ask is how long does the hospital allow the mother to stay after birth. Typically, most hospitals discharge the mother after one or two days.

Other immediate questions to ask include the availability of birthing classes, where to check in when it is time to deliver, visitor policies during labor, and what paperwork needs to be completed in advance.

Medical questions are also important. Is there an obstetrician on duty 24 hours a day? If the pregnancy is high risk, make sure the hospital has a Level 2 or Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Does the hospital’s cesarean rate fall in line with the national average of 23 percent?

The hospital being considered should be open to the father staying with the mother after birth and for the baby to stay in the same room as the mother. The hospital should also be willing to follow the mother’s birthing plan.

Health insurance is another major consideration. The couple needs specific answers from the insurance company regarding what is covered by co-pays and deductibles, and find out what tests and procedures are covered. The final hospital bill will most likely contain errors and should be reviewed carefully and brought to the hospital and insurance company’s attention for correction.

Research, ask questions and even take a tour. Being satisfied and confident in the choice of a hospital is worth the time and effort.

Bringing home a firstborn infant can leave even the best novice parents second-guessing themselves. To make the transition easier, accept the fact that life from here on out is going to be decidedly different than it was before. You will not be getting a good night’s sleep tonight, or any other night in the immediate future. Even the dishes will start to pile up higher in the sink than you would have allowed before. Decide right now that this is okay. The slate of your routine has been wiped clean. You must be flexible enough to make room for whatever schedule the baby carves out on any given day. Learn to embrace flexibility.

Along those lines, learn to love those moments of chaos. Savor each and every experience you have with your little one, even the messiest ones. Don’t be afraid to spoil your newborn and cherish the bonding you’ll have.

Accept any offer of help that comes your way. You may feel a twinge of guilt letting relatives hold the baby too long, but take those moments to relax. It’s vital to give yourself quality time to re-energize.

You can never have enough diapers. Don’t be surprised to find you’re going through a dozen diapers a day with your newborn. Hopefully you would have stocked up during the baby showers, and acquired other essentials such as diaper rash ointment, wipes, and a diaper bin.

Always keep a diaper bag packed, and get out of the house often. Visit family and friends or drop the baby off with a relative to have a date night with the hubby. This will bring a sense of normalcy back into your new topsy-turvy routine.

Talk to your baby often, and sooth him with singing. The sound of your voice can be calming during a fussy restless night, and it also helps with the language skills that will develop later.

Most importantly, relax! And enjoy the experience.

New moms are often at a loss as to what should go in a diaper bag. Obviously, diapers are the first things that come to mind, but how many? And what other essentials should be included in this crucial carryall?

This all depends, generally, on whether or not you are breastfeeding. You will need less equipment in your bag if the sources of your baby’s nourishment are carried inside the bra beneath your blouse. If not, you will need clean bottles and containers of formula. You’ll want to throw in some burp cloths and a couple of bibs.

As for diapers, you’ll need several, but this depends on how long you plan to be out and about for the day. In general you need one for every two hours you plan to be out, plus a few extra just in case (you never know when diarrhea may strike). You’ll also need a travel-sized container of wipes, a changing pad, diaper rash ointment, and plastic bags for easy (and hygienic) soiled diaper disposal. It’s a good idea to bring two changes of clothing for the baby and, depending on the weather, hats and extra socks.

Have a spare pacifier in the bag as well, just in case one gets dropped. You should also have a couple of blankets, plush toys, and teething rings if appropriate.

For safety, always keep a supply of band-aids, hand sanitizer, tissues, antibiotic cream, sunblock, and fever reducer in the bag. If you’re using the diaper bag in place of a purse, ensure you have your cell phone, spare keys, and some cash on hand for emergencies. Packing a camera will ensure you capture every special memory. It can also come in handy if you’re in an accident and need pictures for insurance purposes.

Lastly, don’t forget your own needs. Pack some bottled water, a container of your favorite beverage, and mommy snacks. You never know when you might need them.

The intense immunization schedule an infant faces in the first few months of life may seem daunting to new parents. These vaccinations provide numerous benefits by giving the immune system a boost, protecting the child from all sorts of infections. When weighing the pros and cons of vaccines, there are a few things to consider.

On the positive side, these injections help protect babies from 14 potentially fatal diseases and have been proven to save lives. They are generally safe but side effects do occur on an extremely rare basis. Vaccines also prevent the outbreak of epidemics, ensuring a healthier society. They are also cost-efficient the cost of a vaccine pales in comparison to the cost of treatment that could be spent on trying to cure a disease.

However, some children, like those with egg allergies, can be allergic to vaccinations. There is also concern that vaccinations are linked to autism. Some parents may also disagree with the use of animal and human tissue in the creation of these vaccines. Also, no vaccine is 100% effective or safe, and some children can develop side effects. They can also be harmful when the vaccine is not stored properly. In these cases, make sure you gather enough information to reach the best conclusion for your family.

The following immunization schedule is recommended:

Diphtheria/Tetanus/Pertussis given at two, four, six, and twelve to fifteen months.

The inactivated polio vaccine (IPV) can be given with the oral polio vaccine (OPV) at twelve to eighteen months. If doing one or the other, IPV or OPV can be given alone at two, four, and twelve to eighteen months.

MMR and Chickenpox should be given between twelve to eighteen months.

Hepatitis B administered around birth, four months, and six to eighteen months.

H. Influenzae Type B at two, four, six, and twelve to fifteen months.

These are general guidelines so be sure and check with your child’s primary care pediatrician for more information.

Your dad recently passed away and your mom is worried about how she will get along alone. She has asked you to help her find an alternative place to live, but you do not even know where to start. There are so many things to take into consideration. Many thoughts are probably running through your head: who you should talk to about options, how you will know if the place is right for your mom’s needs, whether or not your mom will be happy. You will have to do a little research to begin this process.

The first step is speaking with people you know and trust. Find out if there is a facility close to your mom’s current home that is known for its hospitality and cleanliness. Once you have a couple places in mind, it is time to schedule an appointment. Start at the top. Call the administrators of the assisted living facilities that you and your mom are considering. Make an appointment to visit the administrator and tour the facility. During this appointment, be ready to ask pertinent questions. Find out what services are included, whether or not the stay is covered by a long term healthcare plan or medicare, if medical services are available for those who need them and how much say a resident has over their schedule. Also, be sure to inquire about meal preparation and available activities.

Finding the right facility for your mom might take some time. Be ready to look into several different options. You want to make sure that your mom’s needs are met in the best possible way, so being prepared is essential to this process. When you think you have found the right place, be sure your mom is comfortable and that all of her questions have been answered. This makes the transition as smooth as possible for both of you.

First time parents may feel anxious over their baby’s feeding times, and may need guidelines to ensure they are doing it properly. A newborn infant needs frequent feedings around the clock, every two to three hours.

When breastfeeding, newborns should be fed on demand. Generally this equals eight to ten feedings daily. If using formula, feeding every three to four hours should be enough, but adjust this according to your baby’s demands and the recommendations of the product. You can usually get away with feeding according to a pediatrician-recommended schedule in the first couple months, but after that the baby will have individual needs. In that case, it may be a good idea to chart your baby’s demands to develop an individualized feeding schedule. Feeding on a regular schedule will also stimulate reliable milk production.

Starting off, it’s a good idea to keep the baby in your bedroom for those nighttime feedings. It’s less disruptive, especially when you’re breastfeeding, considering you don’t even have to be fully awake. Having a bassinet or even bringing in the crib next to your side of the bed will make for easier nights. All you need to do then is bring the baby into bed with you for nursing.

At one to four months of age, the number of daily feedings will decrease because the baby will have started to sleep for longer periods of time at night. For formula feeding at this age, you should start to notice the baby is satisfied with being fed every four to five hours.

At four to six months, the first solid foods can be introduced. Usually this means trying an iron-fortified rice cereal. Once the baby has accepted that, you can begin feeding strained fruits, pureed vegetables, oatmeal, and other grains. Try only one new food at a time to check for allergies. If the baby develops diarrhea, vomiting, or a rash, this is a sign of an allergic reaction.

The days have been cruel, a collection of tired hours and agonizing seconds — your time is spent in a hospital room, among the suffocating sterility, the wilting flowers. Your child is ill, unable to laugh as he once did, unable to charm with a smile. He doesn’t move from his tiny bed. He doesn’t even try. His strength is gone, stolen by disease and the medication chosen to combat it. And your thoughts wander through the minutes, strained as they’ve never been. You worry about a sickness, about the dollars it will eventually demand, about the healing that is so slow. You can’t afford it.

That doesn’t have to be the desperation it seems, however.

There are ways to ease the burden of your situation — and these ways involve nothing more than the efficiency of a computer.

Help people discover your situation through internet connections. Offer your story to forums, online advertisements, social networking sites and blogs — asking others to contribute whatever they can. Every spare penny will be a relief and every kind word will be happily received.

Too many think this crude, somehow an insult to tragedy. They compare the action to marketing and believe it to be vile. The truth, however, is that it is simply embracing the abilities of the Internet: allowing yourself to reach out to the world and have countless individuals reach back. Charity is not a dying notion. It’s instead flourishing online — and you are deserving of it.

Create a page for others to find; use the necessary techniques to make it appear within searches (such as keyword strategies, affiliating and careful placement within the correct engines); and allow yourself to receive aid. This is not an insult to pain. This is instead an alleviation.

Offer yourself to the virtual world. The help you ask for will be given — and effort is worth the result.

If you suspect your infant may have an allergy, it can be frustrating trying to pinpoint the culprit. An allergy can develop as a result of an immune reaction to an allergen substance in the environment. The body mistakes this substance as a potential hazard and releases chemicals, such as histamines, to combat it. The chemicals being released cause allergic symptoms like sneezing, itching, runny nose, and coughing. In severe cases, anaphylactic shock can occur, posing a life threatening risk.

If your baby continually has a runny or stuffy nose, sneezes a lot, has red, watery eyes, and irritated skin, she may have a nasal allergy. The symptoms generally mimic a cold, but allergies don’t simply go away after a week to ten days. If cold-like symptoms persist for longer than that, it may be allergies.

Common substances resulting in nasal allergies are dust mites, mold, and animal dander. Cigarette smoke can make allergic symptoms worse.

For a baby experiencing hives, breathing difficulty, eczema, bloating, diarrhea, and vomiting, there may be a milk allergy. This can be mistaken as gastrointestinal problems, but dairy is one of the most common allergens among young children. This could also be intolerance to milk protein, a condition where the body is unable to digest casein or whey. In either case, avoiding milk and dairy derivatives is necessary. Soy formula can be an option for many, but just like milk, soy is a common allergen. There are hypoallergenic formula alternatives, but be sure and read labels since many of these are made from cow’s milk.

You may not know right away that your baby has an allergy, since it can take some time for allergies to develop. Allergies can also be inherited, so if you are allergic to pet dander, there’s a good chance your baby could also develop this allergy. To prevent allergy development, protect infants from exposure to common allergens like cigarette smoke, dust mites, and mold.

Breastfeeding is one of the best ways to bond with your baby. It provides your infant with the essential nutrients only you can give, arming the baby with disease-fighting antibodies. It’s even beneficial to you mothers who breastfeed have a lower risk of diabetes and breast cancer but learning to breastfeed takes practice and patience.

The best thing to do is start as soon as possible. Breastfeeding a newborn within the first hour of life is the best nutritional choice.

Learn how to feed in a comfortable position so you can relax. Support your back so you will not tire quickly while supporting the baby during the feeding. A nursing pillow is a valuable tool for making the feeding as comfortable as possible for you both. To ensure your milk is being released, feel for a tingling sensation. This signals the release of the breast milk.

When using a breast pump, purchase a quality product. Squeeze or gently massage your breasts, starting at your armpits and working toward the nipple, during the pumping. Creating a routine pumping schedule can get your body used to producing milk regularly.

A common misconception is that breastfeeding is uncomfortable, but that’s only true if it’s done improperly. You may have some tenderness or soreness in the breasts at first, but this should go away as the milk begins to flow regularly. The nipples will probably be uncomfortable at first, but if the baby is positioned correctly and has latched-on properly, this soreness will go away in a few days. If pain continues, consult a lactation specialist.

To help with initial soreness, massage a few drops of your milk into the nipples and let them air-dry. Avoid soap in the shower because it strips the natural oils from the skin, which may cause cracking. If your nipples are tender, a lactation consultant may suggest wearing breast shells.

Breastfeeding will quickly become a rewarding experience one of the firsts in motherhood.

Selecting a pediatrician for your child is one of the most important decisions you can make as a new parent. He or she will not only be the go-to person for vaccinations and childhood illnesses, but the one person who will be most influential in helping you develop your own parenting style and educate you on childhood development stages.

Choosing a doctor for your baby doesn’t have to happen after the birth. Ideally, you have already thought about making prenatal interviews with pediatricians to get acquainted with them and their facilities. While some physicians charge for these types of visits, you may find some offering the prenatal interviews free of charge.

Come to your interview with a list of questions. Ask about their office hours, after-hour emergencies, and what types of insurance are accepted. Don’t be afraid to ask questions like, “How do you feel about circumcision,” “What are your views on alternative medicine,” or “How do you feel about breastfeeding?” If these questions are important to you, they need to be on your list.

This visit will also give the pediatrician a chance to get to know your family. He or she will most likely ask you about the progress of your pregnancy, if there have been any complications, and what sorts of medical conditions you or your other children have.

One of the best ways to decide on a doctor and facility for your new baby is to ask around. Talk to friends and family and let them know you’re looking for a good physician for your kids. Generally everyone will have an opinion, and they will be the ones most likely to give you an unbiased one. Other sources are obstetrician referrals and local hospital recommendations. There are many Internet sources with doctor reviews now, so finding a highly recommended facility shouldn’t be a difficult task. Just make sure you take your time and do some research.

During pregnancy, you’re probably already think about infant safety in your home and automobile. Here are some things to consider:

Most infant accidents at home involve falls, so never leave your baby unattended on a high surface. If you must put the baby down, only do so on the floor or in a crib or playpen area.

If leaving a crawling baby on the floor, make sure you’ve placed proper barriers in dangerous areas, such as the top of the stairs. Toys, pillows, and blankets can be a smothering or choking hazard, so keep them away from the crib. Never allow small objects or plastic bags to be within reach of tiny fingers.

Always put your baby to sleep on his or her back to avoid Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Make sure you have purchased a safe crib with a firm mattress that fits snugly. Many childcare facilities are opting to do away with cribs that have convenient drop-down sides because of the risk of injury and death they pose, so consider this when purchasing a crib.

Car accidents, even minor ones, can cause devastating brain damage or other injuries in an infant. Many of these injuries can be prevented with proper car seats. Always use a rear facing car seat in the back seat of your car until your baby is twelve months old and twenty pounds. After they have reached both of these milestones, you can begin using a forward facing seat unless you feel the need to continue to use the rear facing one until they outgrow it. They should then use this car seat until they reach forty pounds, after which a booster seat becomes necessary. If you have doubts as to whether you’ve properly installed your car seat, find out when your local fire department does car safety seat inspections. Some may set aside one day a week for the inspections, while others may let you come by anytime.

The joy of bringing home your newborn can quickly be shadowed by anxiety and stress. Before leaving the hospital, make sure you’ve laid out plans on how you’ll handle your daily routine back at home.

Visitors stopping by unannounced can make for a hectic day, especially when you haven’t had time to take out the pail of dirty diapers or run a comb through your hair. Resolve this by arranging visits with friends and family, and spread them out. It may be difficult letting anyone other than your mother come over during the first week baby is home, so try and hold off visitors for a couple of weeks, at least until you’ve established a routine. But don’t be afraid to have close friends and family run errands for you or help out with chores.

Don’t forget to immortalize baby’s homecoming by taking photographs or having the camcorder handy. Document your hospital room, baby’s first time in a car seat, the ride home, and the first time you bring your little one into the house. You’ll treasure these forever.

You may find that cabin fever sets in quickly, so take plenty of opportunity to get out of the house. Take a family nature walk with the baby and take photographs. It’s a good idea to get the stroller out and walk at least once a day, for your sake as much as the baby’s.

Have your diapering products at hand when it’s time for a changing. Make sure the wipes are stored properly to retain moisture and offer the baby a distraction. A wind up mobile is perfect for this, especially one that plays music.

If colic becomes a problem, swaddle the baby in a snug blanket or use warm baby oil to massage her stomach. Car rides are also helpful if trying to get a fussy baby to fall asleep.

If your newborn is having trouble falling asleep or establishing a sleep routine, here are some tricks to consider.

Have a nightly bedtime ritual. This can be as simple as bathing baby in a warm bath and massaging him gently with baby oil to lull him into relaxation. If he’s immediately put to bed after this ritual, he’ll quickly learn that it’s time to sleep.

Don’t worry about being quiet during daytime naps. Go about your chores, keep the radio or television turned on, and keep the shades open to let the natural light in. When nighttime comes, be as quiet as possible and keep the lights turned off. Don’t keep noisy clocks in the nursery and be mindful of how forceful you shut doors. This helps baby figure out the difference between night and day.

Try putting any crib sheets or swaddling blankets in the dryer just before bedtime. Newborn infants love warmth and the swaddling blanket will keep them from startling themselves awake.

If your baby can’t sleep because of a stuffy nose or sneezing, consider the environment. Could they be having an allergic reaction to perfume, animal dander, or dust? To help breathing, use a nasal suction bulb before bed.

Teach your baby to fall asleep on her own. You can’t always wait until she falls asleep nursing or while you’re rocking her to sleep. If she’s awake when she goes to the crib she will cry for a while, but she’ll be learning to fall asleep alone. That may be heartbreaking to deal with, but it’s for her benefit.

Make sure you purchase waterproof crib products, such as the mattress, pad, and sheets. Leaky diapers can make for a restless night without them. Having everything waterproof also makes for easier changing when accidents occur.

Incorporating simple tricks into your bedtime routine can make for a much easier, and more restful, night for you both.
